Paying in Full?

We must change. We cannot succeed in Christ if there is no change in our lives. We were never meant to be stagnant. We were never meant to stay the same after baptism. We are in a constant state of transformation. We must lay down our wants and desires. We must be willing to die daily for Christ. We have to follow Him. He will make us become true children of God. That takes more than just showing up for services. That takes more than weekly blowing the dust of your bible. That takes more than praying only in bad times. It takes a daily willingness to change to be the best you can be in Christ. Our lives are the cost. In return we attain eternal life in Heaven just like Christ.  Are you paying it in full or in installments?

“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.””
Luke 9:23

And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.”
Luke 14:27

“So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.”
Luke 14:33

“For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has
enough to finish itlest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’?”  Luke 14:28-30

You know the cost. You know the price paid for you. You know what you must do. Pay it in full today and every day. Keep working hard! :)

The Effects

Make sure you are taking into account eternity with every choice you make about fun and pleasure. We will all be held accountable. As a family, we want to cultivate an environment that continually produces good wholesome fun. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 1 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV

Complaining

Complaining means it is about me. Life in Christ is not about us. Our Christian walk is about God and our neighbor. We do not get the privilege of complaining as blessed servant slaves of righteousness.  We must think twice before we speak our complaints.  (Phil. 2:14-16; Lk. 10:27)

Be Careful Judging

Judgment is wrong. Righteous judgement is not. That is, we can evaluate others lives based on the word and go to their aid when they are struggling. However, the final judgment call is by our Master.  God makes that ruling on judgement day. Be careful lest you be found making the final judgement on someone. (Romans 14:4) “Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.” Romans 14:4 NKJV
