My Family

We love our families. We love having them under one roof. As Christians our brothers and sisters are our family. They are our house. We get to joyful live together in God’s house. This is such a rich blessing I do not think we can fully comprehend it. Let us try to understand it better. Let us bask in this spiritual blessing from God.  (1 Tim. 3:14-15)

Special Food

There is a special food we are to have as new born babies in Christ. This food is perfect for our growth. It is the word. The word to a new Christian is like pure milk to a baby. It will cause them to grow strong and big in the faith. Then we move on to solid food. That solid food is still the word. Try to remember to eat today.  (1 Pet. 2:2)

Born Again

Christ said salvation is being born again. New Christians like children need constant attention and nurturing. As time moves on they are to grow. We are to grow in those  child like characteristics. The more they grow the less nurturing they need. Try to remember this cycle as often as you can.  (John. 3:3-7)

The Place

Baptism is the place where our new life begins. When we rise from the water of baptism we are like a new born baby. We now live in the  rich blessing of life to life that comes from God. Always remember the place where it all began.  (Rm. 6:3-5)

As Little Children

When we obey the gospel we become children of God. We have to become like little children. We are to be innocent of sin, naive to sin, trusting of God, and obedient  to God. It is as important as being converted. We need to look up to God in a feerfuly respecting, loving, and trusting manner. There is so much to be said about this concept. Think of all the implications of being like a little child in Christ would have on your life.  (Matt. 18:3)

Strive To Be Kind

We have to add kindness to our faith and life. It is something we have to work at. We have to make thoughtful decisions  to be kind to others. Kindness is not always going to come naturally. Be mindful of being kind  to others today. (2 Pet. 1:5-10)

A Balanced Life

We signed up to live the life God has laid  out in His word. We committed to it at the same time we were cleansed of our sins. God has blessed us with an elevated position in His kingdom. Our manner of life must be balanced with the position we hold in the Kingdom.  We have to live a balanced life. (Eph. 4:1)

Always Search

There is enough “education” in the air to sink the titanic. You and I both know that not all of that education is of  value. Make sure to search the scriptures daily to find if what you hear is true. (Acts 17:11)

A Gift From God

There is not a single document in this world that is more powerful than the bible. There is not a more reliable or accurate document known to man. Let us use this powerful gift from God everyday.  (Prv. 18:21; Heb. 4:12; John 1:1-5,14,17)

My Guide

Your steps must be directed by God’s word. It is imperative that we serve God by His word. We can be destroyed by lack of Bible knowledge. His word is our guide on our pilgrimage.  (Psalm 119:105; John 12:48-50)

Trust God Always

It is easy to get so self-involved that we forget God is in control. Then a moment comes when our eyes are opened once again. Do not wait tell that moment comes to trust God. Trust God always. (Heb. 11)

The Nerve

If you can master your nerves, you can accomplish anything. We must be willing rely on God and take a deep breath anytime our emotions want to run away. We are soldiers that are completely equipped with nothing to fear but God Himself, who is on our side. So have the nerve to be a strong Christian. (Phil. 4:13; Matt. 28:20; Eph. 6:10-18)

See & Serve

Pay attention to those around you for the sole purpose of serving them. Deliberately look for opportunities to serve. See a need and meet a need.  (Lk.10:33-35; Matt. 9:36-38)

"Are You God's Wife?"

There was once a woman who provided so much kindness to two little children that one looked up at her and asked  “Are you God’s wife?” Be kind today. Be so kind towards others that they cannot help but think of God. (Gal. 5:22; Matt. 5:13-16)

New Challenges

New Year resolutions are great. They can cause us to be better as they are sought and accomplished. However, they are of no value if they never leave the paper they were penned on. They are of no value if they do not challenge us to be better in Christ.  Shoot for the stars and work hard. Make them come alive. (Jam. 2:26; Lk. 14:28-33; 2 Pet. 3:18)
