Bold Servants

Christ’s servants are bold. We stand tall in the Lord. Not to lord over others but to be a servant to all. We can boldly speak the Word as it has been given to us by our Master. Does your attitude and manner of life reflect this? (Acts 4:29)

Peaceable Servants

We are peaceable servants of the Lord. We do not quarrel. We are gentle to everyone. We can teach about Christ and His ways. We are patient. We should be wonderful people to be around.  (2 Timothy 2:24)

Christians Serve Christ

Christians are servants of Christ! We are in subjection to Him. We chose Him to rule our lives. Do not try to serve to masters at once. You will fail and come to love one more than the other. Serve God.  (Romans 1:1; 2 Corinthians 4:5)

Payday

Although we are slaves there is a payday coming. There is a reward for your service in everything we do. We are rewarded in serving sin with eternal death in condemnation. We are rewarded in serve God with eternal life in heaven.  What is your reward?  (Romans 6:23)

Choose Wisely

Freedom comes by choice. You can choose whom you obey. We are set free from our worldly master, Sin, when we obey the word. Therefore, we can no longer be in subjection to our old master.  (Romans 6:17; 1-2)

Your Master; Your Choice

We choose whom we serve. We serve the thing or things we subject ourselves to. We serve the thing we let rule our lives. We serve the thing we obey. Whatever you obey becomes your Master. Is there something in your life besides God that you are in subjection to?  (Romans 6:16)

Do The Dirty Job

We have an issue with understanding servants in our American culture. We do not really have anything that fits this bill any more. We pay our servants. T hose people that do the work we do not want to do are the modern servants.  We are to be like them. No matter how high we may feel we are, we are never above another. Always humble yourselves before each other and do the “dirty” job for another.  (Luke 18:9-14)

You Are A Servant

You are a servant. Yes, you are indeed a servant. We do not like that phrase. Who wants to be called a lowly servant? The highered hand is often looked upon with distain. As if they had some special powers to lower our status. We are servants. We are either slaves of God or slaves of sin. The choice is ours, but it must be made. (Rom. 6:20-22)

Choosing Slavery

The true sign of greatness is choosing to be a slave. Greatness does not come from standing tall and ordering others around. Greatness in Christ comes from bowing low, doing the work, and encouraging others to do the same. Would you be a slave for the sake of a soul? (Matthew 20:26-28)

We Are Servants

We are servants. Christ was the ultimate example of what it means to   be a servant. He was bound in service without wages, a bondservant.  We must be willing to do the same. (Philippians 2:7-8)

Spiritual Sexual Immorality

We can spiritually commit the sin of sexual immortality by turning to false doctrine and false gods. Think on this: If a person says that God accepts something that His word does not tell us He accepts is that the same God?  (2 Chronicles 21:11)

Keep Your Marriage Pure

Just like in the Old Testament  this unity has things we must avoid. We must avoid sexual immortality. This leads to idolatry. This is our warning to stay true to Christ. There is no other that we can be spiritually married to and be God’s child.  (1 Cor. 10:8; Num. 25:1-9)

The Life Insurance Policy

This marriage comes with an inheritance. As a bride of Christ there is a rich life insurance police to be reaped upon our death and judgement. We get to go be with our groom for eternity. We get to go into His Father’s house and forever be in a place of glory and bliss. What a policy. (Gen. 31:14; Col. 3:24)

Overwhelming Joy and Peace

There is an overwhelming amount of joy and peace in this marriage to Christ. There is no other union in this world that can provide us with this joy and peace. Sometimes we seek for it else where and end up in greater despair than when our pursuit began. (2 Cor. 7:1; Rom. 15:13)

Only Now

If we desire to be united, married, to Christ we must do it now. We cannot wait tell we are dead. It is only in this life time that this union can take place. This union does continue for eternity. Just like in our carnal courtship there is a window for marriage to take place, so it is with our marriage with Christ.  (Matt. 22:30)

A Bride Cares

A wife’s cares about how she may please her husband. That is to be our care for Christ. We must seek to please Him every day. We do that by keeping His commands. (1 Cor. 7:34)

Be Clingy

We are to cling to Christ. We must cling to Him as a wife clings to her husband.   Christ is our care taker, protector, and leader. There is nothing else for us to cling to and be right in God’s eyes.  (Eph. 5:31)

I'm A Bride

We are now the bride of Christ. We must act like one. This eternal covenant depends on us doing our part. Christ does His. We are to be submissive to Christ as a wife is submissive to her husband.  (Eph. 5:22-23)
