Bring Alongside

It is a Tuesday/Monday day for us. We have had a blessed weekend! Let us add to our faith today. Let us add virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. We need to bring these in by the side of what God does.  God’s part is done only on the condition that we do ours.  This list is something that does not get added to our faith like you add a sack of potatoes to your grocery bill. It takes effort. It takes focus and diligence to add these to your faith. Although they are very small and insignificant compared with what God does for us we must add them. Every child of God must hasten to add them to our faith so that we may avail in the promises and blessings of our Father. Do not lack in them being shortsighted, even to blindness, forgetting you are cleansed for your old sins. We must add and abound in these things alongside what God does so that we may be fruitful in the knowledge of Christ. Choose one from this list and work on it today. Add to your faith today.

“But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 2 Pet. 1:5-9

Be fruitful in the knowledge of our Lord and savior. Seek to add to your faith today. Seek to save lost souls this week! Keep working hard for our reward is out of this world! :)

The Effects

Make sure you are taking into account eternity with every choice you make about fun and pleasure. We will all be held accountable. As a family, we want to cultivate an environment that continually produces good wholesome fun. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 1 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV

Complaining

Complaining means it is about me. Life in Christ is not about us. Our Christian walk is about God and our neighbor. We do not get the privilege of complaining as blessed servant slaves of righteousness.  We must think twice before we speak our complaints.  (Phil. 2:14-16; Lk. 10:27)

Be Careful Judging

Judgment is wrong. Righteous judgement is not. That is, we can evaluate others lives based on the word and go to their aid when they are struggling. However, the final judgment call is by our Master.  God makes that ruling on judgement day. Be careful lest you be found making the final judgement on someone. (Romans 14:4) “Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.” Romans 14:4 NKJV
