From Dust to Dust

We have passed on when the soul is has left the body. We often weep bitterly over this event. In Christ, it just means it is our time to go rest in Abrahams bosom until the day we get to go home to the place Christ has prepared for us. It is not an end; it is the beginning of the rest of our lives. It is a day to look forward to.  We do not die in Christ we live on for eternity in the best place ever given to man, Heaven. Use your body to reach this goal. It is temporary and will return to dust, back to the earth it came from. Then when your earthen vessel gives way your soul will go on to a better place.

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:26 NKJV

“And so it was, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name Ben-Oni; but his father called him Benjamin.” Genesis 35:18 NKJV

“In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return.” Genesis 3:19 NKJV

The Effects

Make sure you are taking into account eternity with every choice you make about fun and pleasure. We will all be held accountable. As a family, we want to cultivate an environment that continually produces good wholesome fun. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 1 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV

Complaining

Complaining means it is about me. Life in Christ is not about us. Our Christian walk is about God and our neighbor. We do not get the privilege of complaining as blessed servant slaves of righteousness.  We must think twice before we speak our complaints.  (Phil. 2:14-16; Lk. 10:27)

Be Careful Judging

Judgment is wrong. Righteous judgement is not. That is, we can evaluate others lives based on the word and go to their aid when they are struggling. However, the final judgment call is by our Master.  God makes that ruling on judgement day. Be careful lest you be found making the final judgement on someone. (Romans 14:4) “Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.” Romans 14:4 NKJV
