Be Salt & Light


     What are we to be for our neighbor? We are to their salt of the earth. We are to be their light in this dark world. We are to be the city on a hill that they are drawn to. We are to be the good works they see that causes them to praise God. Love your neighbor as yourself by being the salt and light that they need.

 ““You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”” Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV

Lasting Effects

The family God setup continued to deteriorate as time went on. The same plague haunted those families that haunts ours.   If we let this plague of sin go unchecked and refuse to inoculate ourselves against it, then we too will become the rotted poor sad reflection of God’s real intent. Circumstances To Rejoice In

What is a good time to rejoice? What circumstances should cause us to rejoice? Christianity is never without its opportunities to rejoice. We should rejoice when we are under persecution. (Matt. 5:11-12) We should rejoice with others who are full of joy. (Rm. 12:15) We should rejoice in our sufferings. (Col. 1:23-24) We need to rejoice in His salvation. (Isaiah 25:9) Although we might not feel like rejoicing in some of these circumstances we are called to. Joy is more than a feeling it is about knowing.
