We are fellow soldiers. Some of these fellow fighters are closer than others. However, we are all in the same army and fighting the same battle. We have the example of Epaphroditus to learn from. Let us fight alongside of each other and work together for the cause of Christ. (Phil. 2:25)
Jesus is the captain of this army. We must react and submit to Him as such. It is an amazing blessing to fight this spiritual battle with a perfect previous victor of it as our leader. (Heb. 2:10)
We are not mandated to enlist. There is not a draft that we must sign up for. We volunteer to be soldiers the moment we obey the gospel. (Matt. 11:28; Rev. 22:17)
Some have been overtaken either by being in sin or by the enemy. Some are weak as a soldier. Therefore, we need to recognize this and treat them accordingly. ( Rm. 7:22-25)
Sin is not the man but the spiritual weakness that is present in him. When one sins against us or in general he has lost that battle. We need to make sure we keep that in mind. (Jam. 1:14-15)
We are at war with spiritual host of wickedness in heavenly places. We are warring against evil spiritual principalities. We are warring against power and rulers of the darkness of this age. Be sure to not make the mistake of warring against flesh and blood. ( Eph. 6:12)
We are soldiers. Our enemy is real and active. We must seek to please God as good soldiers. If we allow ourselves to be engrossed in civilian affairs, then we will lose the battle. (2 Tim. 2:3-4)
It may take more time. It may require more effort. It may require sacrifice. Unity is worth every bit of what we put into it. Being unified is a much as a command as worshiping on the first day of the week and being a servant. (Eph. 4:1-6)
Not only should we get along with each other we need to be working together. We are all members of one body and need each other to accomplish Godās will. (Rom. 12)
What then shall we say that we have no need for unity? Certainly not! For unity is God given. Unity is God commanded. Unity is something we all need. (1 Thess. 5:11)
When we fail to achieve unity then division is present. We are either united or divided. United in Christ we stand. Divided we fall. It is up to you and I to prevent division by keeping unity. (Rom. 12:3; 1 Cor. 1:10; Gal. 1:10)
Unity is worked for not freely given. The gift is our ties to one another in Christ. We must put forth effort to accomplish the rest. (Acts 2:44; 4:32)
